One thing I'm going to try to do this year on the blog is include a little more of what we do in our jobs, hence the title It's What We Do. Our jobs are not the easiest to explain. We're often asked in conversation and it's just plain hard to describe in a few short sentences. And there's a few misconceptions about what exactly what Ron and I do on a day to day basis.
Well, right now I'm spending my days entering data into the computer. Not the most exciting part of my job, but quite necessary. Each year around the state, surveys are conducted to determine the presence of invasive insects, plants, and plant diseases in areas like parks, farm fields, nurseries, tree farms, residential areas, and others. These surveys usually occur during the spring and summer and sometimes last into the fall. Then I spend time during the winter entering all sorts of information into a database so the public can access it. Wondering what Illinois or your state may have moving around in its borders? As promised way back in December, a new look for the blog. I've had the new background up for a couple of days and finally got the new title/header up this afternoon. Thanks for stopping by and checking out what exciting (or boring) things have been going on in our lives.
