My reading pace has slowed down drastically since Kaylee's arrival. I love to read and was doing a pretty good job on reading about a baby's development, milestones, and such. I still try to keep up a little so we know what to expect and what is lurking around the corner. But, instead of reading my books every night, I find myself getting tidbits of information from the web.
One thing that has interested us greatly has been her eyes. Not only if those baby blues are going to stay blue, but what has she really been able to see. And now I've seen a website that can help. It's called Tiny Eyes. And it can simulate what your baby is seeing at different ages and distance. Pretty cool stuff.
Now I just have to wait to see if those blue eyes are going to stick around...

The boys have been busy this spring planting trials. In fact, last week they headed to Nebraska to plant some research trials...leaving mommy and Kaylee at home. We did okay, despite Kaylee's need to wake mommy up twice a night while daddy was away. Where did my sweet little girl that likes to sleep 6 hours at a time go? I'm still not sure, but happy to report we've had a couple of nights she slept completely through and the others were just a short few hours away from the same feat.

Someone finally fits into her john deere boots...Daddy couldn't be happier! Farm Girl fashion also dictates you pair your john deere onesie with your carhart skirt. Spoiled? Probably!

but not as happy as mom and dad. Miss Kaylee slept through the night for the first time last night. We're not getting our hopes up that this is the new norm. Monday was a rough day with the doctor visit, shots, and lots of crying throughout the day. Yesterday she catnapped in the morning at daycare before we picked her up at noon. After physical therapy in the afternoon, she still only slept for about an hour between noon and 10:30 last night. I suspect she was just plain tired. But we can always hope, right?!?

Wow...another month has passed. Remember the picture from last month? Little miss Kaylee has grown quite a bit. In fact at the doctor she weighed in at a whopping 11 lbs 5 1/2 oz. Mom and dad weren't expecting that! We knew she was definitely getting longer, but is now 23 1/2 in. long from head to toe.
Overall, the doctor is very pleased with her growth and health. But lets just say is not a fan of the shots (but then again, who is?)

Kaylee has been smiling for quite some time now and I think it melts your heart each and every time. The very first time she had a big open mouth smile - you know, the ones that theirs eyes smile too - while we were watching some CMT, hanging out one morning. Ironically, the video playing was Uncle Kracker's "You Make Me Smile". Our little girl loves music, and doesn't really care if mom and dad can't carry tune.
The smiles have definitely become more frequent, but so very hard to catch with a camera.
