Congratulations Stacy and Mike! Baby Maverick was born Sunday morning @ 5:24 am weighing in at 7 lbs 12 oz and 20 in long. Big sister Maddy is pretty darn excited that her brother is here.
Little Mav is off to a rough start with surgery today, but we know that there are a lot of people praying for his well-being and quick recovery as well as for strength for his family.
Uncle Ron and Aunt Kelly can't wait to meet you!

Irish Baby Blessing
May all the blessings of our Lord touch your life today.
May He send His little angels to protect you on your way.
Such a miraculous gift, sent from above.
Someone so precious to cherish and love.
May sunshine and moonbeams dance over your head.
As you quietly slumber in your bed.
May good luck be with you wherever you go.
And your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow.

Last Wednesday, Kaylee took her longest car ride yet. We headed to Springfield to have her hip ultrasound done. Not a fun road trip, but a necessary one nonetheless. The doctors wanted to make sure we didn't have to worry about hip dysplasia. Good news! She passed with flying colors! The ultrasound was done as a precaution due to her breech position when she was born.

After church on Sunday, we headed to Indiana to have lunch at the Beef House. We were meeting up with the Alderks and the Stewarts...of which Dave, AJ, and Sondra were all college roommates of mine as well.
We had a great time! It was a lot of fun catching up while eating some fantastic food. It was both Kaylee and Carter's first trip to another state and Kaylee got to meet Bella (born in January) and Lilly, but more importantly we were celebrating Sondra's last chemo treatment! Way to go Sondra...you are such an inspiring woman!

Last weekend was a big weekend for Kaylee. She got to meet lots of future friends and possible future husbands.
Friday we met up with one of my college roommates and her adorable kids for lunch. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, but we had a great time. It won't be long before Kaylee will be able to play with Olivia (4) and Hunter (2).
Then on Saturday, we headed over to Mahomet to meet up with Dawn & Doug who were in town, along with the Alderks and the Nuttersons. We finally got the chance to meet Rosalie who was born in January and see Carter who was born in November. Another playgroup in the making! We also kid that Kaylee is Carter's girlfriend...who know's? Maybe someday!

When Aunt Melissa and and Jackson stopped by for a visit, Jackson was happy to show us where Kaylee's toes were. That's a very important skill needed by big brothers...that's right, come September, the Cook grandkids are going to increase in number again! (Thank goodness Melissa said I didn't have to keep it a secret any more!)
We were pretty excited that Kaylee was going to have one cousin close in age (as soon as he decides he's ready to meet us) but a second is pretty cool too!

My goal is to make sure I get a picture of Kaylee and the puppy she got when she was born each month...a great way to see how much is growing and changing!

I've got a back log of blog posts to try to get posted, the first of which is Kaylee's one month check up.
Kaylee has grown a lot in her first month. After a rough start of not wanting to eat and losing weight, she made a great comeback weighing in at 9 lbs 2 oz. She also grew 1 inch, and is 22 inches long.
We've told more than one person, that she is a great baby - little fussing and only when she's crying when she's hungry or has a wet diaper. As you can tell, this doctor visit didn't really bother her at all.

Hard to believe that one month ago this little princess made her way into our hearts. It took no time at all to wrap us around her little fingers. Now who's going to buy her a pony?
